Introduction 1.0

How often have you read the sentence “However, this subject is outside the scope of this paper“? I’m curious whether this is done because of the author’s decision not to include an irrelevant or lengthy subject, or because the author just doesn’t have anything to say about it.

This is a place for the things which I have something to say about, but which are ‘outside the scope’ for other places I share ideas with others, such as my status updates or my thesis.

I also do not expect as big of an audience as for my status updates or my thesis (if it’s any good), but sometimes things just ‘deserve’ to be written down, even if it’s just for myself. I guess I could also just go for a traditional paper journal, but it’s just so convenient to do everything online. This way I also get the benefits of playing around with technology, which alone once led me to begin a personal website. It’s too bad that back then, I didn’t have anything to say, so I wrote about what I did the day before JUST to have some content. Recently I’ve had quite a lot of ‘potential’ content, but no place to actually publish it, which is probably a much better reason to start a weblog in the first place.
